FBUSD FFA STUDENTS TAKE 1ST PLACE!

Fort Bragg Middle School Drama Performance

As we head into the final work week of the calendar year, I want to pause and thank each of you for the care, energy, and commitment you bring to our students every day. This time of year often moves quickly, but it also offers a valuable opportunity to reflect.

When we look back on the past year, there is much to be proud of. Our students have grown academically, socially, and emotionally. They have shown resilience, curiosity, perseverance, and kindness. These successes do not happen by chance. They are the result of your work in classrooms, offices, hallways, playgrounds, and across our school communities.

As part of this reflection, I invite you to think about a student success you have witnessed this year. It might be a breakthrough moment, steady growth over time, a student finding their voice, or an act of compassion that stayed with you.

Please take a moment to submit one or two words that capture that success. Your words will help us collectively tell the story of our students and remind us why this work matters.

At the end of next week, just before we leave for winter break, I will share these reflections back with staff as a word cloud, offering a visual snapshot of the many ways our students have grown and succeeded this year.

Thank you for all you do for our students and for one another.

With gratitude,
Joe

Understanding the 12/10/2025 Supplemental Payroll Adjustments

On the December 10th payroll, you may have noticed adjustments labeled as RETRO, appearing as multiple line items for each month from August 10th to November 10th. These adjustments relate to any extra duty wages that were paid after July 1, 2025, which were impacted by a retroactive increase approved in October 2025.

The amounts shown in these line items represent the difference between your previous rate and the new, higher rate of pay. To calculate the adjustments, this difference is multiplied by the same number of hours worked during those months. It’s important to note that these adjustments also apply to actual overtime and will be reflected as two separate entries in your payroll.

If you have specific questions regarding your individual calculations, we encourage you to reach out through this link: Payroll Inquiry Form ( https://forms.gle/4woQwA13LFrUqPtE7 )

Your understanding of these changes is important, and we are here to assist you!
