Reclassified English Proficient Students were recognized at Dana Gray on Wednesday. FBUSD had 40 Students reclassify this year.

Imagination Library Available to ALL Mendocino County Families!

The Mendocino County Office of Education is partnering with the Sonoma County Office of Education to host a

CS + First Steps to Integrating Computer Science Using 'Plugged' Activities Event

This is an exciting opportunity for California teachers to be compensated for engaging in

Computer Science professional learning and is provided through Region 2’s work in the

Computer Science Educator Workforce Investment Grant: Seasons of CS.

Our synchronous learning on December 6th is coupled with 90 minutes of asynchronous activity to be completed independently. Teachers completing both components will be compensated $125. 

90 Minutes Synchronous Session via Zoom: December 6th, 2023, from 4-5:30 pm

90 Minutes Asynchronous Activity: Due by Jan 31st, 2024

Compensation: $125 for completion of 180 Minute Professional Learning

Trauma Informed Training

Safe Spaces is a Trauma Informed Practice training. It is online and consists of 3 modules of about 2 hours each. These modules are eligible for DCEC credits. The training can be found at https://osg.ca.gov/safespaces/.

Health & Wellness Council

We need your participation!

What is a Health & Wellness Council?

An action-oriented advisory group that focuses on the health and well-being of students,

staff, and families in a school community. The Council makes recommendations to the

School Board for the District Wellness Policy, assists in the implementation of the

policy, and leads other health-related initiatives. The Council ideally includes school

district employees, students, parents, school board members, & community members.

A Health & Wellness Council may also:

 Monitor and evaluate the implementation of district health and wellness policies

and programs.

 Advise the school board or district on community health issues

 Organize health-promoting programs or events in the district or community.

We will meet:

Please ensure you have received credit for all your transcript and DCEC submissions. The deadline for salary advancement was October 15, 2023. If you have attained an advanced degree, please make sure you are receiving the salary increase. All degrees must be reflected on official transcripts accompanied by a conferral date. Please keep all credit update emails for your records. Credit updates state your submitted credits, total credits to date, salary advancement, a link to the FBUSD salary schedule location, and information on eligible transcript credits. Classified notices can be slightly different.

Receiving a 30-day Substitute Permit is easier than ever! Do you know someone who would like to become a substitute teacher? Commission on Teacher Credentialing Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit information can be found here. https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/30-Day-Substitute-Teaching-Permit-(CL-505p) I assist with all permitting if needed.

 

The basic skills test requirement is being waived for a limited time.

Passage of SB 1397 has temporarily waived the Basic Skills Requirement from January 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. Basic skills proficiency will once again be required for the initial issuance of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit after July 1, 2024. As long as your permit remains active, this will apply. 

 

The Basic Skill Requirement still applies to other credentialing permits. Contact me if you need information or application assistance.
