News, Notes & Reminders...

  • We have some amazing things happening in the district. Last night, we had 6 students from Alt Ed come to the board meeting to ask the Board to support a leadership opportunity for them (See pictures above). Our Varsity Volleyball team won against their section rivals at home on Thursday. Our students at the FBHS were having a good time being together today. See these videos for a smile. Our administrators took part in an equity training on Wednesday. (Opportunities for a Community of Practice (COP) for equity will be coming soon. If you have things you would like shared in the blog, please feel free to share them with me.
  • November 1 planning is underway. We are planning some great stuff for you. While it is a regular workday for certificated staff, we are also excited to be able to invite our classified staff to attend if they would like. We will have some sessions that we require certain grade level teachers to participate in this year. However, we will also have the opportunity to learn from each other. If you are interested in presenting, please complete this form
  • The updated Employee Handbook can be found here
  • The updated Emergency Contact Form can be found here
  • Athletic Schedules for our student athletes are available on the FBMS and FBHS websites.
  • Today starts Hispanic Heritage Month. Here is a list of great resources to use in your classrooms to celebrate our students, staff, and community who have this heritage as a part of their backgrounds.

  • Our partners at Blue Zones have provided access to the Real Age Test for our employees and families. This test provides an age that correlates to healthy lifestyle choices. After taking the test, you will have access to resources to continue making healthy lifestyle choices. Please click here for a folder of resources regarding this opportunity.

Do you know someone who would like to become a substitute teacher? The basic skills test requirement is being waived for a limited time.

Passage of SB 1397 has temporarily waived the Basic Skills Requirement from January 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. Basic skills proficiency will once again be required for the initial issuance of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit after July 1, 2024. As long as your permit remains active, this will apply.

It is easier to get a substitute permit. The Basic Skill Requirement still applies to credentialing permits. Contact me if you need information or application assistance.
