News, Notes & Reminders...

  • Thank you to everyone for your response to the lockdown on Monday. I know this incident brought to light some areas of strength and some areas in which we can improve. I appreciate the feedback I have received so far. Feel free to reach out if you think of points to share. Safety of students and staff is our number one priority. I appreciate all of you for the role you play in maintaining a safe and supportive campus every day. I hope you all have a restful break. - Joe
  • We have added the Mendocino County Mental Health Crisis Hotline and the Warm Line information on the FBUSD website for our staff. It is in two places, one before you log into Employee Resources https://sites.google.com/fbusd.us/district/employee-resources?authuser=0 and on the actual "Employee Resources" page as well https://sites.google.com/fbusd.us/do-employee-resources to make it accessible to anyone who may be looking for it. Please share or utilize these resources as needed.
  • The Board is inviting FBPD Chief Cervenka to co-host a Town Hall on Thursday, April 20th from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in Room 306 at the high school and we will be circulating a survey out to the community and staff for questions or concerns they would like to express during that Town Hall meeting. The hope is to reach as many people as possible to allow them to feel heard and start a healing process.
  • We are working with Lucresha Renteria at MCC to try to arrange for some mental health support services during the break so that any staff member who would like to meet with someone to discuss the April 3rd incident will have an opportunity to do that. We will share more information once we have confirmed times and locations.
