News, Notes & Reminders...

  • Thank you to all of the teachers, administrators, and staff who supported Parent Teacher Conferences this week! I know it is exhausting, but so worth the effort to connect with our parents. 
  • If you know of anyone who is interested in becoming a school counselor, CDE is offering a scholarship program for up to $20,000 to support getting a degree and credential. They ask for a two year commitment to working in schools in return. For more information, email the program at mhcounselors@cde.ca.gov. 
  • An online store has been setup to order FBUSD clothing. The store can be found here. If you order, the item will be shipped directly to you. 
  • There is a Computer Science Ed overview being offered by MCOE and Sonoma COE for CS Education Week (Dec. 5-11). More information can be found here
  • A free online class to enhance notetaking skills in students is being offered. More information can be found here

  • COVID Vaccines/Boosters are available at the Mendocino Coast Clinic from 2:00-5:00 PM on Tuesdays. More information can be found here.
  • Testing is available at the District Office from 7:30-8:30 AM and 3:15-4:15 PM each day.

  • HR Notes from Suzie
    • Do you know someone who would like to become a substitute teacher? The basic skills test requirement is being waived for 2023. This makes it easier to get a substitute credential. Contact Suzie if you need more information. 

    • If you have a change of legal name change, address, mailing address, or phone number, please make sure Human Resources is notified. Any checks or tax documents will be mailed to the address on file. In addition, employees can make changes using the portal. 

    • Please review your paycheck to ensure you have received your salary advance from DCEC Credits. Any credits submitted in October will be reflected on November's paycheck. Your paycheck stub and the employee portal are two sources to review your salaries. Credits on file are also registered in the portal.

  • 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline has gone active nationwide. Anyone can call or text 988 to be connected with a mental health counselor trained to support crisis intervention for substance abuse, suicide, or other mental health needs. You can find out more about the Lifeline at this link
