News, Notes & Reminders...

  • The Mendocino County Library has an "Educator Card" that allows teachers to check out class sets and other items for their students to use and many can be accessed with student Chromebooks.  https://www.mendolibrary.org/about/support/get-a-library-card/mendocino-county-educator-card
  • COVID Vaccines/Boosters are available at the Mendocino Coast Clinic from 2:00-5:00 PM on Tuesdays. More information can be found here.
  • Testing is available at the District Office from 7:30-8:30 AM and 3:15-4:15 PM each day. At home test kits are available. 
  • Please stop by the District Office to pick up your FBUSD T-shirt if you haven't already done so. I hope these new shirts will become a part of your Friday spirit wear wardrobe. :)
  • HR Notes from Suzie
    • Please submit DCEC credits by October 15 for consideration for this school year. 
    • Certificated employees, please notify HR if your credential changes to an Intern or Preliminary CCTC status or if you advance your degree.

    • The FBUSD Employee Handbook is located on the website. In addition, please review and submit your Receipt of Employment verification on page 23 via Google form. This is an annual requirement. 

    • Medical Insurance: Once eligible, you will receive your cards in the mail. Dental & Vision Insurance: Please let your provider know you are employed by FBUSD; they will use your social security number to find your policy. (No Card is provided by the insurance company).  

    • The District Office has a lost and found. If you have been missing something, give us a call.

    • DCEC credit is available to Classified employees. Please see the information in the CSEA Master Agreement Article XX 20.1 and 20.5. The annual deadline is October 15th. The link to the CSEA Master Agreement is. https://sites.google.com/fbusd.us/do-employee-resources

    • Tulare County Office of Education has a multitude of resources for teachers of English Learners (which we all are!). Here are some strategies and some useful tips:

  • 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline has gone active nationwide. Anyone can call or text 988 to be connected with a mental health counselor trained to support crisis intervention for substance abuse, suicide, or other mental health needs. You can find out more about the Lifeline at this link
